What damage is done if you accidently hook up the wrong poles of a battery when trying to jump start your car?
I had a dead battery – we tried to jump start it – it didn’t start – we left the cables on with the other car running for about 5 or 10 minutes then we saw smoke coming from near my battery – turned off other car – removed cables – found out we had + connected to – / bought new battery – car still doesn’t start – no interior lights – no horn – but headlights work – what damage do you think we must have caused
